Over the years, Kendall Packaging has built a strong presence in the world of cheese packaging, but we recognized a need for something more. Although we’ve been a longtime leader in supplying the industry packaging for their process cheese products, we needed to develop a structure that could be used to package sliced and chunk natural cheese to complement our shredded cheese films.
By meshing our customers’ needs with our capabilities along with our suppliers’ offerings, we were able to create a solventless adhesive laminated structure which provides the strength and seal performance required for chunk cheese. In the end, this structure was able to meet all of our customers’ performance characteristics as well as their short lead times.
Because of our development team’s understanding of our customers’ processes and strong relationships with our suppliers, the trial and scale-up of the new film proceeded quickly and efficiently. This success is a great example of how Kendall is constantly looking for ways to leverage the value of our supply chain to continuously offer new technology, efficient structures, and innovative ideas for the benefit of our customers and their customers.
