Kendall Packaging Achieves Global Food Initiative (GFSI) Certification at Wisconsin Plant
Feb 26, 2015
Kendall Packaging is excited to announce our Jefferson, Wis., manufacturing facility has achieved Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000: 2005 Certification as recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and the only ISO-based system. Our Jefferson facility joins our Kansas facility, which achieved FSSC 22000 last February.
The Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is a globally recognized independent, non-profit organization, founded in 2000 to help control and minimize food safety hazards. The FSSC 22000 is comprised of a System and Review Desk Audit followed by a Certification Audit at the site. A Surveillance Audit is conducted after six months to review the ongoing effectiveness of the system. Prior to becoming GFSI certified, Kendall’s quality management system was ISO-9001 compliant and AIB rated at 945.
Kendall understands the importance of food safety and works each year to further improve its facilities. This certification is part of our continuous effort to improve our safety, processes, and programs.
