In-Line Capabilities Means New Possibilities for Customers

In 2020, Kendall Packaging partnered with MPS Systems to custom-design a printing press to support growing customer needs. The narrow web in-line press with dual side printing capabilities increases overall capacity and is installed at the Jefferson, Wisconsin facility.
The MPS EXL-Packaging press delivers wider and faster flexo printing with quick job setup and changeover times, minimal waste, and optimal printing and converting of flexible packaging, shrink sleeves, wrap-around labels, and mid-web label printing.
The added value of this press is to support short to mid-size runs for Kendall Packaging’s customers. This is being achieved with the highest level of automation including job memory, which guarantees accurate repeatability and fast changeovers, using the advanced inking system with automatic cleaning and viscosity control. The machine was the first of its kind to be sold in the United States.

The machine is designed to run solvent based inks at high speeds and minimum use of energy due to the latest technology in hot-air curing.
